The amount of money you recieve from Ontario Works will vary depending upon your circumstances, such as family size, income, assets and shelter costs.
You may also be entitled to other support and benfits such as drug and dental coverage, eyeglasses, hearing aids, community and employment start up benefits and transportation allowances.

How to Apply
You can begin the application process for Ontario Works by contacting the nearest Ontario Works Office in person or over the phone. At the beginning of the applications process, you will receive information regarding the program. What information and documents may be needed to complete the application process. This information could include:
- Social Insurance Number
- Ontario Health Card/Drivers License
- Indian Status Card/Birth Certificate
- Employment History/information
- Income and assets statements
- Shelter costs (rent, hydro, heat)
- Updated Bank Statement
- Income Tax Documents
In order to complete the application process, you will be required to fill out and sign all neccessary forms, including the application for assistance and a participation agreement outling the specific employment activities that will support your best route to sustainable employment.
